MARK BENTLEY has signed a new two-year contract extension at Gillingham.

The midfielder, who joined the Gills in 2006 from Southend, will remain at Priestfield until 2010.

Gillingham chairman Paul Scally said: “Mark’s a key performer and gives his all every game. He’s a popular member of the playing squad and will continue to give sterling service to the club.”

The 29-year-old was this week voted the Medway Messenger player of the month for August by the club’s supporters.
