Boss denies rift with record signing

EUELL: Struggled to hold down a first team place last season
EUELL: Struggled to hold down a first team place last season

CHARLTON manager Alan Curbishley has assured fans there is no ill feeling between himself and record signing Jason Euell, who has featured in the club’s opening pre-season friendlies.

The 28-year-old midfielder-cum-striker has regularly been linked with a move away from The Valley, stemming from an alleged ongoing disagreement between the duo.

But Curbishley has insisted there is no problem.

He said: "There’s been bits and pieces in the papers about Jason but, first things first, there is nothing personal between me and Jason Euell.

"I’m not that naive to put myself in a situation like that with a player of Jason’s quality.

"He didn’t play a lot of football last year which he was disappointed about, but I’ve said to him if gets back here and does pre-season properly then he will be on a par with everybody else."
