Clubs agree to groundshare

VCD ATHLETIC have agreed a groundshare with Greenwich Borough.

The Kent League Premier Division Club had been tenants at Lordswood for the past two seasons but have reached a deal with Borough to use their Harrow Meadow ground.

Manager Martin Ford said: "While Lordswood have treated us first class, the club felt it would be better for all concerned that we move closer to our home at Crayford.

"The players were finding it stressful to keep travelling to Lordswood."

Ford also revealed VCD have plans to play many of their home fixtures on Thursday night.

He said: "There’s a chance that with not too much football on nationally or locally, we might attract more people though the gate."

VCD kick-off their league campaign with a home fixture against Thamesmead on August 13.
