Coaching staff return for ex-Gills stopper

JIM STANNARD has returned to Gillingham as a goalkeeping coach.

The 44-year-old goalkeeper made 126 appearances in a four-year spell at Priestfield and was affectionately known as 'Big Fat Jim' by the club's supporters.

Stannard set a new Football League record of 29 clean sheets in a season, as the Gills earned promotion in the 1995/96 campaign.

He returns to the club on a part-time basis.
