Wales have called up Gillingham captain Andrew Crofts for next month’s World Cup qualifiers.

Crofts was left out for Wales’ last two matches, but he remains in John Toshack’s plans for the forthcoming games against Liechtenstein and Germany.

The Welsh entertain Liechtenstein on October 11 at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium but four days later have a tougher task with a trip to Germany.

Crofts will miss Gillingham’s home match against Morecambe on October 11. He currently has 12 international caps to his name, but faces a battle to make it into the Wales team as he is playing the lowest level of domestic football in the 26-man squad.
