Invicta Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish is on the verge of signing a new defenceman from Bracknell Bees.

Parrish has moved quickly to strengthen his defence following the retirement of Alex Shaw and the departure of Peter Korf, who has left the club to go to university.

He said: "He’s definitely on board and is a young British defenceman. He played in the EPL last year and wants to step down and prove himself in this league."

The player in question is expected to sign a contract at the end of this week.

Parrish is also on the verge of bringing other new players to the club but admitted he is playing the waiting game.

He explained: "We can’t go out there and afford wages as we can just about afford expenses for players.

"At this stage you are waiting to see who signs in the EPL. If they can’t commit we can pick them up.

"I think it is a good thing. We’re not talking about mediocre players here. They are good players who could play for the third or fourth line in an EPL side. They could easily play first or second line for me."
