FA Trophy round-up

HAMID BARR struck a last minute winner to put Tonbridge into the FA Trophy second qualifying round with a 3-2 win over Harrow.

Barr had earlier put the Angels in front after eight minutes at Longmead, but a mistake by keeper Matt Reed enabled Albert Adomah to level four minutes later.

A second half header from Jamie Lawrence put the visitors in front, before a late rally gave Tonbridge victory. John Beales nodded home the equaliser, before Barr struck.

Honours ended even between Cray and East Thurrock as their thrilling tie ended in a 3-3 draw.

Michael Power put visiting Cray in front on the half hour before Leni Bajadi levelled in the 45th minute.

Within a minute of the restart, Lumumba Amena restored Cray’s lead, but again East Thurrock equalised with Akwasi Edusei scoring.

Lee Burns gave Thurrock the lead for the first time only for Jamie Kempster to reply with a 74th minute volley.

Player-manager Andy Hessenthaler was on target in Dover’s 2-1 victory at Maldon.

Craig Wilkins struck on 53 minutes to put Dover ahead, before Hessenthaler added the second. Wayne Purser got Maldon’s consolation goal with a late penalty.

Dartford returned from AFC Hornchurch with a draw after playing out a goalless encounter.

Folkestone were unable to make the most of their early lead in going down 2-1 at Walton & Hersham.

A James Corbett header after six minutes put them in front, before second half goals from Richard Thompson and Rob George saw the home side into the next round.

Ramsgate were edged out in a five-goal thriller against Horsham at Southwood.

Simon Austin and Jacob Mingle were on target to give the visitors a 2-0 advantage at the break, before substitute Chamal Fenelon made it 3-0.

Ramsgate reduced the arrears when Shaun Welford scored twice to make it 3-2, but they found Horsham keeper Alan Mansfield in good form and were unable to get a third.

Two first half goals were enough to send Sittingbourne to a 2-0 defeat against Northwood at Bourne Park. Jaz Rose netted both goals after three minutes and 43 minutes.

Ashford were comprehensively beaten 4-1 by Leyton at Homelands.

Shaun Lee, Tobi Oshitola, Ben Gracey and substitute Billy Bicknell all scored for Leyton, before Joby Thorogood’s late consolation for Ashford.

Three second half goals condemned Chatham to a 3-0 home defeat against Witham at Maidstone Road. Andy Hughes got the first followed by Jamie Ricks and substitute Steve Joyce.
