'Fighting fund' set up for the Gate

Fans of Margate FC are being urged to pledge their support to the club as it bids to shake off a second winding up order from the taxman.

Margate Independent Supporters Association (MISA) is hoping that loyal followers will step in and help reduce the money owed to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

The group is seeking donations of £10 or more. It says that the money will be added to a 'fighting fund' to help secure the Gate's future.

The Hartsdown Park side has until November 27 to find a solution to its financial problems.

HMRC is demanding money it claims it is owed under a previous Company Voluntary Arrangement.
