Bognor Regis Town 2 Margate 2

MARGATE came from two goals down to claim a point at Bognor Regis Town on Saturday.

The home side found themselves 2-0 ahead after two goals in the space of three minutes from Daniel Beck and Luke Nightingale.

But Gate halved the deficit before the break despite Bognor dominating for the most part.

Adrian Clarke drew a foul on the edge of the penalty and got up to despatch the free kick beyond the home goalkeeper with the help of a deflection.

And Chris Kinnear’s side were back on level terms within two minutes of the restart when Che Stadhart scored with a fine left-foot drive from the edge of the box.

Gate could have won it but Darren Ward chose to try and square the ball to his strike partner Rocky Baptiste when the shot would have been the better option.
