Ebbsfleet cruised into the second round of the FA Trophy with a 2-0 win at Bognor on Tuesday night.

Goals in injury time of both halves courtesy of Stacy Long and an own goal saw Fleet get their defence of the Trophy off to a successful start at Nyewood Lane.

The sides had been due to meet on Saturday but the game was postponed due to heavy rain.

Michael Gash saw a shot well saved by Chris Tardif before Luke Moore shot into the side netting as Fleet looked to break the deadlock.

They finally went in front during the second minute of first-half injury time.

Gash flicked on a throw-in to Long and he volleyed home.

There were few chances in the second half until four minutes into stoppage time when Fleet added a second goal that settled the tie.

A breakaway by the visitors led to a cross from the right and the ball was headed past Tardif. Fleet substitute Craig Stone claimed the goal but it was credited to a Michael Byrne own goal.

Fleet will now host Stalybridge Celtic in the next round on January 10.
