Gate's Oates in fitness battle

OATES: breathing difficulties
OATES: breathing difficulties

Welling v Margate

MARGATE boss Chris Kinnear will check on the fitness of Greg Oates before the Nationwide South trip to Welling on Saturday.

The former Arsenal defender was taken off in Tuesday's first match between the two sides suffering from breathing problems and was due to have a chest x-ray.

Billy Edwards trained on Wednesday night after coming off the bench to replace Romauld Bouadji who was troubled by a groin strain. The long serving defender had been laid low by flu for 10 days, and ideally Kinnear would not have used him.

Margate start the game on the same number of points as Welling who have a game in hand. The teams are only separated by goal difference. Kick off at Park View Road is 3pm.

Welling have won only once at home this season, while Margate aim to end a run of eight games without a victory.
