RONNIE JEPSON is still confident Gillingham will stay in League 1, despite four of the teams below them having a game in hand.

The Gills sit just three points above the relegation zone and Jepson said: "There are 10 or 11 teams involved at the bottom so it's not going to be pretty.

"It's going to be all hands to the pump and hopefully we'll show we have the bottle and determination to get out of trouble.

"The team has, at times, lack quality. I'm not going to wash over that, the fans aren't silly they can see it.

"But what I cannot fault the lads on is lack of effort. Maybe this has been a bit mis-directed at times, but I'm confident we have the players at the club to see us over the line."
