Gills player of the month: Vote now

Gillingham have endured a roller-coaster February and now it’s time for you to select your star player from the past month.

The Gills started the month with a home defeat against Bradford and followed that up with a 2-0 loss at the Don Valley Stadium against Rotherham.

An eight-goal thriller followed at home against Aldershot and the Gills recorded their first win of the month against Macclesfield.

We’ve selected six of the best from those matches and now you have the final say.

Barry Fuller

The captain made a surprise comeback against Rotherham just weeks after coming out of hospital with a serious bout of pneumonia. Despite his recent illness and severe lack of training he showed no signs of weakness with a number of energetic displays.

Andy Barcham

The former Tottenham forward looked back to his best in the games against Aldershot and Macclesfield and netted three goals in the process. Whether from left midfield or part of a three man attack he’s caused opponents plenty of problems.

Simon King

The centre back was on the scoresheet against Macclesfield but it’s his defending which continues to earn him rave reviews. King missed the 4-4 draw with Aldershot due to an ankle injury and he was a big miss to the side.

Dennis Oli

His pace has been a vital factor for the Gills this season and he started four of the five games in February. He might not have hit the net but he has created plenty of attacking moments on the right side for the Gills.

Mark McCammon

Injury problems look to be behind the big striker now and McCammon has given glimpses of what a quality player he can be in League 2. He netted in the game against Aldershot which earned him a first start in almost four months against Macclesfield.

Nicky Southall

A steady performance during February culminated in his winning goal against Bournemouth as he guided Andy Barcham’s pass into the roof of the net. Just a week before his inch perfect corner kick left Simon King with a simple finish for the opener against Macclesfield.
