Gills suffer keeper injury blow

IN FORM: Jason Brown has been playing superbly for Gillingham this season
IN FORM: Jason Brown has been playing superbly for Gillingham this season

GILLINGHAM'S injury list has grown even longer after goalkeeper Jason Brown fractured his left thumb while on international duty with Wales.

The in-form stopper has been an ever-present this season, but he is now likely to be out for two months.

The loss of Brown means 37-year-old player-coach Paul Crichton will make his Gills debut against Yeovil at Priestfield on Saturday.

But despite the presence and experience of Crichton, the loss of Brown is a blow to Neale Cooper.

He said: "It's hard at the moment and it was disappointing to hear the news about Jason."
