Manager Mark Goldberg has urged his Bromley side to put their opening day Blue Square South defeat behind them tonight.

Bromley lost 2-1 at home to Maidenhead on Saturday but have the perfect opportunity to bounce back at Bishop's Stortford.

Goldberg said: "I know how I want to approach this game and we need to get points on the board as soon as possible because that is the most important thing."

The Bromley boss felt his side lost the midfield battle against Maidenhead and is keen for them to stamp their authority on the game.

"We got outbattled in midfield," he reflected. "Because of that we never got control of the game and never got possession.

"We have players who can play football but if you don't win the physical battle, then their on-ball abilities will not come through.

"I expected more which is why I am not happy. Being able to win the midfield battle is all about attitude, some players have it, some players don't.

"I have spoken to key players and if I don't see a change then I will be making changes - we need to avoid another dismal performance."

The on-off saga surrounding David Obaze and Bromley was finally resolved when the defender put pen to paper on a deal on Friday.

Goldberg had said budgetary restrictions were forcing his hand into not taking on the 18-year-old, but they have since worked out a deal to keep him at Hayes Lane for the season.
