Antonio German is set to be recalled to the Gillingham squad this weekend.

The striker was left sidelined during manager Martin Allen’s recent disciplinary crackdown at Priestfield.

But Allen has been impressed with how the young striker has recently responded.

“German has trained hard and shown lots of dedication,” said Allen.

“The door is never closed on anybody but I want a response.”

Former Queens Park Rangers youngster German signed for the Gills permanently in the summer, having enjoyed a brief loan spell in League 2.

His only start this season came in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, while his other four appearances all came off the bench.

He was one of four players placed on the transfer list in the middle of last month.

“Sometimes perhaps it takes people time to adjust and fair play to him (German) he has adjusted and we will have to keep looking after him and make sure it happens properly," Allen added.
