GILLINGHAM player-manager Andy Hessenthaler admits the club’s recent run of form is worrying after they could only draw 1-1 at home to struggling Stoke on Saturday.

Gills have failed to win any of their last six Division 1 fixtures - picking up just three points in the process - as they have dropped to 17th in the table.

Although they are still 10 points clear of the relegation zone, Hessenthaler insists they need to start winning games quickly. He said: “If we get two wins it could put us up into 10th place but it’s a little bit worrying. We need a victory to kick start our season again.

“It’s two points lost because we’re at home playing against a side in the bottom three and we’re expected to win. But the way things have been going we could easily have lost it.”

Hessenthaler was full of praise for the way his team kept going although he believes the side need a little bit extra in attack if they are to improve their record of 10 goals in 11 home games this season.
