Iffy: Bring on Leeds test

ONUORA: "It's an opportunity for us to turn our season around"

Gillingham v Leeds United

GILLINGHAM joint-caretaker manager Iffy Onuora wants his players to enjoy the occasion on Saturday and bury the memory of last week's defeat.

The Gills welcome Leeds to Priestfield and will be looking to end the Yorkshire side's 100 per cent start to the season.

It's a tall order for a side that were thrashed 4-0 at Nottingham Forest last weekend, but the stand-in manager believes a positive approach could make the difference.

Onuora said: "It's going to be a great atmosphere here. We'll give them respect but we won't fear them and I'll be stressing that to the players. It's an opportunity for us to turn our season around.

"Bring it on as far as I’m concerned. Games like this should bring out the best in people."

Onuora and fellow caretaker boss Mick Docherty will wait until the last minute to assess several injured players. Goalkeeper Simon Royce remains a doubt with a back injury but striker Gary Mulligan (ankle) is back in training.
