GILLINGHAM manager Ronnie Jepson is remaining defiant but admitted he has been left frustrated by a lack of new faces at the club.

Jepson was able to add no new additions at Priestfield before the transfer window closed.

He said: "Our mood is good. We have belief in them but as we all know they need a lift at times and we’re all disappointed that we didn’t add to the squad before the transfer window closed.

"In an ideal world I would like maybe three or four more permanent players in. But as things are we have to look at the loan market perhaps sooner than I anticipated.

"There is room for improvement and I know the areas where we need improving. Rest assured, I’ve tried to make improvements there but as everyone knows it hasn’t come to fruition."
