Jepson: we can still make play-offs

JEPSON: looking to climb up the table
JEPSON: looking to climb up the table

Gillingham v Rotherham

GILLINGHAM boss Ronnie Jepson remains confident of reaching the play-offs ahead of Saturday's visit of Rotherham to Priestfield.

He said: "I would like us to be in a position in January where we are in the top half of the league – and in relative comfort – so we can set our sights a bit higher.

"I do have a points target in my own mind but I don’t like to put pressure on my players.

"If we get the points tally where we’re relatively safe – a lot earlier than we did last year – then we’re in a good position to have a go and the shackles can come off a bit.

Rotherham will provide another tough test for Gills. If the Millers had not started the season on minus 10 points, they would be in a play-off spot at the moment.

Jepson added: "We know they are a decent team and it’s going to be a difficult task but it’s one we’re looking forward to."
