KENT have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2007 campaign by signing a second Kolpak player from South Africa.

The county club have secured the services of 23-year-old all-rounder Ryan McLaren, a former South Africa Under-19 player.

A left-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler, McLaren is well known to the county's director of coaching Graham Ford.

Graham Johnson, Kent's chairman of cricket, said: "Ryan offers us all round abilities and will add a great deal to the squad while we review the progress of our younger bowlers and those emerging from the academy."
