Kent skipper Rob Key has failed to make the final shortlist for the Indian Premier League.

Key, along with vice-captain Martin van Jaarsveld was named in the original 148-player list for the auction.

But the eight IPL franchises met on Monday to decide which players they want to bid for on February 6 when the squads will be decided.

Key and South African van Jaarsveld were both snubbed by the franchises which means they will be available for the start of the county season with Kent.

A total of seven England players are on the list - Andrew Flintoff, Kevin Pietersen, Luke Wright, Owais Shah, Paul Collingwood, Ravi Bopara and Samit Patel.
