NEW ZEALAND all-rounder Jacob Oram has held talks with Kent.

With both Justin Kemp and Andrew Hall expected for duty with South African against Sri Lanka on July 12, Kent are seeking alternatives.

But persistent back troubles make Oram a risky investment and he may rule himself out when results of a spinal scan become known at the weekend.

Kent’s director of coaching Graham Ford said: "We want guys who can bowl seam up at a lively pace and can add some value with the bat, but players like that aren’t too easy to find.”
