Matches called off as icy weather takes hold

THE freezing conditions led to Gravesend & Northfleet's Nationwide Conference clash against third-placed Grays Athletic being called off on Tuesday.

The Stonebridge Road pitch failed a secound inspection at about 4.30pm after originally being deemed playable three hours earlier.

Also postponed was Dover Athletic's Ryman League Division 1 trip to Leatherhead.

That match was called off just 45 minutes before kick-off and is Whites' third cancellation of the season.

Meanwhile, Bromley's Ryman League Premier Division clash at Harrow Borough did go ahead, but George Wakeling's side may well wish it hadn't.

Two second half goals condemned the Lilywhites to a 2-0 defeat and they have now won just twice in their last 13 matches.

No new dates have yet been arranged for the postponed fixtures.
