INJURY NIGHTMARE: Mark Saunders broke his leg early last season

GILLINGHAM midfielder Mark Suanders could be offered a short-term deal after recovering from a broken leg.

The 32-year-old suffered the injury against Preston at the beginning of last season and manager Neale Cooper has been impressed with the player's committment.

Cooper said: "Saunders has worked extremely hard. He's had a nightmare season with his leg and maybe we can get some sort of deal sorted.

"Whether that's short-term to give him an opportunity to get back, because there's no-one that's worked harder than he has."
