Welling v Lewes

CARETAKER boss Chris Moore aims to take charge of Welling at the third time of asking on Saturday.

Moore, who is in joint charge with skipper Richard Carpenter, has yet to oversee a match after two postponements in as many weeks.

The Setanta Shield clash with Grays was called off due to a FA Trophy replay while last weekend's league trip to Bishop's Stortford was rained off.

Moore said: "The players are like caged tigers, they can't wait to get started again.

"They are really up for the game, they want to do well for the club and the fans."

Moore, who will hand defender Francis Duku his debut, is suspended for the clash but is hoping to make a double loan signing on Friday after the departure of Lloyd Blackman to Folkestone earlier in the week.

He added: "The club has been really supportive, there has been a bit of moving around within in the squad but the money that has been freed up has been given to us to strengthen so we can't ask for any more than that.

"Francis is a big, strong defender who will give us plenty of presence at the back. He is a good character to have in the dressing room as well."
