Mos gear up for championship decider

Invicta Dynamos' long season continues this weekend, with a double header against Peterborough Islanders to decide the ENIHL South Championship.

Kevin Parrish’s squad face Peterborough on Saturday before the return leg in Gillingham on Sunday night (5.15pm start).

Parish said: "We’ve worked hard all year to get this far but with the amount of injuries we have it’s going to be difficult. We’ve just got to do the best we can and hopefully that will be enough for us to progress."

While the Dynamos are depleted, Peterborough have roster issues of their own following last Sunday’s ENIHL Play-off Final defeat to the Whitley Bay Warriors.

In a game overshadowed by referee Blaine Evans, 280 penalty minutes were imposed, which leaves the Islanders without their entire first line, including player/coach Jesse Hammill and star forward Jason Buckman through suspension.

Missing from action this weekend will be Anthony Andrews (broken nose and knee), A.J Smith (work), Karl Lennon, Joe Allen and James Fraser.

Grant Baxter will be playing with a sore shoulder, alternate captain Anthony Leone continues with cracked ribs and coach Parrish will once again be required to ice himself to bulk up the numbers.
