ANDY HESSENTHALER: will be keen to impress his former club

Dover v Gillingham

SUPPORTERS will get their first chance to see the new-look Gillingham this Saturday when they take on Dover, the Ryman League Division 1 South side managed by former player-manager Andy Hessenthaler.

"We’ll be taking a full squad there," Jepson said. "With what Hess has done for the club over the years, I certainly wasn’t going to refuse him when he rung up."

Jepson confirmed that goalkeeper Simon Royce is currently having a trial with the club.

A decision on whether he is signed on a permanent basis will be taken at the end of the month.

Former Gills goalkeeper Jim Stannard has joined the club on a part-time basis as a goalkeeping coach – a position not filled last season.

Jepson said: "It’s a specialist position and Jim will come in two days a week. He’s a nice character and will be a good addition."
