A RED CARD and a sending off contributed to a thoroughly miserable nignt for Chris Kinnear's men at Victoria Road last night.

The Gate fell behind on 25 minutes when Paul Bruce floated home a 25-yard free-kick and just after the hour Danny Shipp struck from similar distance.

Alex Meechan made it 3-0 on 69 minutes shooting into the far corner of the net and with just two mintes remaining former Gate striker Leon Braithwaite broke his duck for his new side with a diving header from Meechan's cross.

Margate then had newcomer Sean Hankin sent off for a second bookable offence and, after Dagenham keeper James Pullman had been dismissed for a professional foul on Jean Michel Sigere Sigere himself put his spot kick against the post.
