Dennis Oli is in line to make his first appearance in a Gillingham shirt for over three months when the reserves face QPR’s second string today.

Oli, 24, hasn’t played for Gillingham since breaking a bone in his foot during the club’s 7-0 defeat at Shrewsbury in the middle of September.

The winger has been back in training for several weeks but has been unable to play competitively as the nature of his injury meant wearing football boots was uncomfortable, but manager Mark Stimson now feels he’s ready to make a return.

“Touch wood there will be no reaction and having him back will be like a new signing,” said the Gills boss.

“He’s got that pace and at this level it’s a great weapon to have. He’s not far off and with the Dagenham and Wycombe games coming in the space of three days we may need him.”

Stimson will also field experienced midfielder Micah Hyde after handing the player a trial following his release from Peterborough. Two other trialists could also feature.

Today’s game takes place at Priestfield at 2pm. Season ticket holders are admitted free.
