Pardew rallies Charlton fans

Charlton v Blackpool

CHARLTON manager Alan Pardew has issued a rallying call to supporters ahead of Saturday's home game against Blackpool.

The Addicks'promotion push is stuttering with no wins in their last six games and just two successes in their last 10 at home.

He stressed:"This is a massive, massive game for us and I'm appealing to supporters to get behind the side from the first whistle to the last.

"I hope the guys with the drums in the North Stand hammer out a beat that's loud and clear across The Valley.

"I'll admit that I was a little bit disappointed last weekend against West Bromwich because I thought we played well but the ground was quiet.

"It's important our supporters stay positive. We lost at home to Colchester so we can't expect to just turn up and beat Blackpool. What's more neither should our fans.

"So we should turn up with that attitude. That attitude will go a long way to helping us."

Midfielder Jerome Thomas, ruled out last week through illness, returns to contention.

"We're close to having a full complement available, apart from the long-term injuries," Pardew added.
