Charlton's squad for Tuesday's South London derby at Crystal Palace could be radically overhauled.

Manager Alan Pardew dropped a broad hint that the axe could fall on a number of players after Saturday's setback against Sheffield Wednesday dropped the Addicks to 14th in the Coca-Cola Championship.

He admitted:"At this moment I'm questioning my loyalty to certain individuals.

"I felt good going into the game but we suffered from a number of below-par performances.

"Now, I must look at the selection of this side because I have a number of players on the fringes who are desperate to have a go."

Wednesday, trounced 6-0 on their travels two weeks ago at Reading, registered a first away win in the League with two first half goals in three minutes to stun home supporters.

Poor defending allowed Wade Small to run through unchallenged to equalise in the 39th minute.

Charlton failed to heed the warning and in the 42nd minute, Marcus Tudgay gave them the lead with an almost identical goal with the home defence again in disarray.

Charlton had started brightly, taking a 19th minute lead through Luke Varney.

Linvoy Primus, on his return to the side, was out of luck with a header that struck a post and Varney also saw a shot strike a post.

Charlton huffed and puffed in the second half when Wednesday defended in depth but they created little in terms of goalscoring opportunities.
