Pennock: We must pick ourselves up after Cup exit

Havant v Welling

WELLING manager Adrian Pennock has warned his players not to feel sorry for themselves after their shock FA Cup exit.

The Wings were dumped out by lower-league Clevedon Town last Saturday – missing out on a plum first round tie at home to League 2 Chester.

Pennock said: “It’s my lowest point since I’ve been at Welling but we’ve got to move on now and forget about it.

“There’s no point sulking, we’ve got to move forward and get back to winning ways. We normally respond well after a bad result so I’m hoping that we can get going again.”

The Wings travel to Havant this Saturday without the suspended Jamie Day and Des Boateng. But club skipper Chris Moore, who was left out of the starting line-up last Saturday, should return.

* Welling host Dartford in the Kent Senior Cup first round on Tuesday, kick-off 7.45pm.
