JIM WARD: "I have nine or 10 of the team pencilled in"

Burgess Hill Town v Ramsgate

RAMSGATE boss Jim Ward admits to having a selection headache ahead of the club's first ever game in the Ryman League Division 1 at Burgess Hill Town on Saturday.

But he says a tough opening schedule will mean he will have to use his whole squad.

He said: "I have nine or 10 of the team pencilled in, but selecting from a squad of 20 will be tough.

"We have four games in the first nine days, so I’m sure we will need every one of them before the first month is over."

Goalkeeper Danny Twyman has broken a finger at work while striker Graham Taylor is nursing a groin problem.

One player who has impressed Ward is 21-year-old former Sittingbourne defender Dean Hill.

Ward said: "He has looked very solid. He can play anywhere in the back four and takes no prisoners."
