Kent's chief executive Paul Millman has confirmed a delay to the start of the county’s £10m redevelopment scheme for their St Lawrence headquarters in Canterbury.

Mr Millman does not think there will be significant changes to the shape of the ground now until after Tunbridge Wells Festival Week in May.

"There will be some early preparation work, but there won’t be much sign of building work during our first three home matches," he said.

“These things can take time and there’s nothing untoward, it’s just that signing the agreements and going through the review process will take us through to the third week in April by which time hosting cricket matches here will be the priority.

“Once we’ve finished at Tunbridge Wells people will then start to see changes in how we run the Canterbury ground.

“I don’t think this will dent our overall schedule and we would still hope to have a certain amount of the new club office buildings and the majority of the hotel built by this time next year.”
