Six without a win for Wings

Rob Quinn's penalty was little consolation for Welling
Rob Quinn's penalty was little consolation for Welling

Welling 1 Worcester 3

Welling's unbeaten home record came to an end as their winless streak stretched to six games after they were outgunned on Saturday.

The Wings, bar a 15-minute period midway through the first half, never got going and Worcester deservedly ran out winners after dominating the second period.

Worcester ironically took the lead during a spell when Welling were on top. The hosts failed to clear a right-wing corner and Marco Adaggio turned the ball home from close range in the 36th minute.

Welling were level two mintues later when Lee Blackburn was felled in the box and experienced skipper Rob Quinn slotted home the resulting penalty - the first spot-kick he had taken since youth football.

The visitors regained the lead 11 minutes into the second half when Graeme Andrews failed to deal with a simple ball in and Craig Wilding slotted past Jamie Turner.

Welling never had a shot on target in the second half and it was no surprise when Wilding beat the offside trap five minutes from time to add his second and wrap the game up.

Substitute Ryan Martin went close with a free-kick late on - but Welling looked a broken side by the final whistle.
