DANNY SPILLER'S energetic midfield displays and well-taken goals saw the midfielder sweep the board at the annual club awards night.

Spiller, 23, was voted supporters' player-of-the-season, players' player-of-the-season and sponsors SeaFrance's player-of-the-season.

At the black tie dinner, Chris Hope and Ian Cox also picked up trophies for coming second and third respectively in the sponsors' vote.

There was also a new award this season, the youth players' player-of-the-season, which went to winger Matt Jarvis.

Both players marked their awards by signing new three-year deals, which ties them to the club until summer 2007.

Seventeen-year-old youth team product Jarvis signed his first professional contract on the pitch in front of the fans before the home defeat to Coventry, where he polished Andy Hessenthaler's boots for the last time.

Spiller's extension was more of a surprise, with chairman Paul Scally pulling out the new contract on stage for the midfielder - who is rumoured to have been attracting interest from West Ham - to sign which he did to rapturous applause.

Life-long fan Peter Lloyd was named supporter-of-the-year.
