Danny Kedwell believes Gillingham interim manager Peter Taylor should get the job on a permanent basis

Gillingham’s leading scorer Danny Kedwell has backed Peter Taylor to get the manager’s job full-time.

The Gills frontman has scored two goals in two games since Taylor took the reins from Martin Allen.

And 30-year-old Kedwell, who has six goals this season, feels everything is better with the new man at the helm.

He said: "He’s getting the boys to be more calm on the ball and it’s not 100mph stuff like it was with Martin Allen.

"It’s not just about going out there and running after everything, front and back. He is trying to get us to play more football.

"On Saturday there were glimpses and on Tuesday (against Notts County) there was much more, and we got three points from it."
