YOUNG Gillingham striker Frannie Collin has spoken of his delight at earning a new deal at Priestfield and says he is aiming for a place in the first team next season.

The 19-year-old signed professional forms for the Gills in October last year after previously impressing for Chatham Town and England Schoolboys.

He scored on his Gills debut in the 2-0 LDV Vans Trophy win over Crawley, made six league appearances, and also featured in the FA Cup first round defeat at non-league Burscough.

He said: "I wasn’t sure which way it was going to go, so when Ronnie Jepson said they were keeping me I was pleased and relieved.

"I want to try and earn a regular spot in the first team and chip in with a few goals.

"There is nobody we should fear and we have a real shot at challenging for promotion this time around. I want to play a part in that."
