JASON BROWN: wants to remain at Priestfield if deal is right

PREMIERSHIP clubs are eyeing goalkeeper Jason Brown as Gillingham stall on offering him a new deal.

The 20-year-old has admitted interest from a couple of Premiership clubs after a series of sensational performances which have led to rave reviews and the former Charlton man winning international honours with the Welsh Under-21s.

His current deal runs out at the end of the season but he says he would like to stay at Priestfield - as long as the deal is right - and is hoping to open negotiations in January.

Brown admitted he wanted his future to be sorted out as soon as possible and if not, he would keep his options open. He said: “If I’m honest I am disappointed I haven't been offered a new deal."

He added: “I would have liked to get it done before the season but we’re not living in an ideal world and that's the way it is."
