Walker and Key help Kent recovery

MATT Walker top-scored hit an unbeaten 48 and Rob Key bashed a cameo 35 as Kent set a modest 20-over total of 163 for six against Sussex in Canterbury.

After losing skipper and pinch hitter Andrew Symonds to the second ball of the game, Kent recovered courtesy of a fifth-wicket stand worth 76 in seven overs between Key and Walker.

Alex Loudon (25)and Geraint Jones (22) gave good support in the middle order as Kent edged to a defendable total.

James Kirtley and Luke Wright took two wickets apiece for the visitors, but the most economical Sussex bowler was Mushtaq Ahmed who finished with one for 22 from his four overs of wrist spin.
