Cray Wanderers 2 Metropolitan Police 0

Cray Wanderers will go in search of glory on Saturday after getting through to the Ryman League Division 1 South play-off final with a win over Metropolitan Police at Hayes Lane on Thursday.

A goal in each half from Jamie Wood and Ross Lover earned the home side a 2-0 win and set up a tough final against Tooting & Mitcham United at Imperial Fields.

Cray took the lead on the stroke of half-time when Ryan Royston flicked on a Jamie Day throw and Wood sent a looping header beyond keeper Will Packham.

The result was put beyond doubt 16 minutes from time when Wood turned provider for Lover to slot home.

Wanderers will have to reverse form to reach the Ryman League Premier Divison. Tooting have beaten Ian Jenkins' side three times already this season, including ending their incredible 28-game unbeaten run last month.
