Wasteful Gate pay the price

Newport County 2 Margate 0

MARGATE were punished for not taking their chances as they went down at Newport County.

A strong wind made things difficult for the teams, but Gate should have scored at least three times in the first half as Moses Jjunju and Rocky Baptiste were both guilty of wasting glorious opportunities.

Margate boss Chris Kinnear tried to change things around in the second half. He brought on Darren Watson to add an aerial threat but the big man struggled to get into the game.

Baptiste missed two more excellent chances before Sam O’Sullivan struck a sucker punch with Newport’s second goal in injury time.
