Welling United v Weston-super-Mare

WELLING manager Adrian Pennock is waiting on international clearance for two summer signings ahead of their Nationwide Conference South opener at home to Weston-super-Mare on Saturday.

The Wings boss has signed utility man Luke Holmes and forward Andrew Sam, but both require international clearance after previously playing abroad.

In a busy week of activity at Park View Road, Pennock has finally agreed terms with striker Che Stadhart while rookie Ellis Green has penned a deal after impressing during pre-season.

Former Sittingbourne striker Mark Lovell has agreed to stay at Welling in a bid to make the breakthrough at a higher level of football while Pennock also reported that forward Akwashi Edusei is winning his battle to be fit for the Weston game.

Pennock said: "We've got a good blend of youth and experience in the squad and I'm really looking forward to the first game.

"I know our fans will get right behind us from the start and will make plenty of noise to encourage the team."
