Wings heading into the unknown

Hednesford v Welling

Welling make the trip to Hednesford tonight for the rearranged second round FA Trophy match.

The Wings are understrength heading into the game and manager Andy Ford admits he doesn’t know too much about tonight’s opposition.

With so many games called off due to the weather Ford has been unable to check out the Unibond Premier Division table-toppers.

“It’s a difficult game for us,” said Ford. “They are top of their league and they score lots of goals but also let a few in.

“I’d planned to have them watched for the last three games but they’ve all been called off. It’s a case of going into the dark.”

The original scheduled clash on Saturday was called off due to a frozen pitch.

Ford is hoping several players who had been doubtful for Saturday’s game with flu and sickness will have recovered in time for the match tonight.

They will, however, be without a number of key players.

Sonny Cobbs is suspended, Moses Ademola has been recalled by Brentford and Jack Parkinson is cup-tied.
