Wings striker ready to wait for big move

KEDWELL: "If I do move then I want to play at as high a level as possible"

STRIKER Danny Kedwell has insisted he is in no rush to leave Welling during the January transfer window.

Kedwell, who has scored 17 goals so far this season, is being tracked by several League 1 and League 2 sides while Conference outfit Grays have had two bids rejected.

Wings boss Adrian Pennock expects Kedwell to leave next month but the striker has vowed not to rush into any move.

Kedwell said: "I'm not going to go to the first club that comes in for me. I'm just going to wait and see, I'm sure the club will do what is right for me.

"If I'm here at the end of the season then I'll be happy, if something else happens then we'll have to see. I'm just going to concentrate on my football as I can't control what other clubs want to do."

Kedwell also delivered a snub to Grays by insisting that he would rather move to a club in the Football League than join the Nationwide Conference outfit.

"I'd rather play in the Football League," he stated. "It's not all about money, if I do move then I want to play at as high a level as possible."

Kedwell, who had a pre-season trial at League 1 Brentford, insisted that he is enjoying his football at Park View Road.

"I like it here and I'm playing the best football of my career," Kedwell said. "My confidence has been high since the start of last season and it's just gone from there.

"I've not really thought about what might happen, once I'm on the pitch I forget about it."
