MARK STIMSON'S readiness to dip into the youth team for fresh talent has given a boost to the club's current youngsters.

Those playing in Scott Fitzgeralds youth team have seen team-mates Luke Freeman and Charlie Howard make the step up this season as first team manager Stimson has shown no fear in blooding the teenagers.

Among those aiming to follow in the footsteps of the pair is Adam Burchell.

He said: "It would be a dream to get that first game under my belt.

"The new gaffer has come along and he's been amazing. He's a really nice bloke and he's interested in the youth system.

"Luke Freeman has gone up into the first team and done really well for himself and I hope that can be me one day."

Burchell, 17, is a first year scholar, having been promoted from the club's Centre of Excellence in Canterbury and he's revelling in the experience.
