Ant and Dec present Headcorn 'paperboy' George Bailey with holiday on ITV's Saturday Night Takeaway

A Peter Pan 'paperboy' who recently celebrated his 80th got a birthday surprise from TV's dynamic duo Ant and Dec.

Grandad George has been pushing publications through letterboxes around Headcorn for the past 16 years - and TV's Saturday night saviours Ant and Dec presented him with a seven-night all-inclusive break courtesy of travel firm TUI.

Mr Bailey, who was recently rewarded with an e-bike by Raleigh and Evans Cycles to spare his ageing legs, can go anywhere in the next two years thanks to the surprise shown on ITV's Saturday Night Takeaway which returned tonight.

George, who was part of the virtual audience, was presented with the holiday during the show's 'happiest minute' section when the Geordie pair dish out trips to as many deserving people as they can in 60 seconds.

He and his wife jumped off their sofa when they realised they were one of the recipients.

Believed to be one of the oldest paperboys in Britain, he had been considering hanging up his delivery sack and retiring from the 2.5-mile loop but changed his mind after the e-bike gave him a 'new lease of life'.
