Fire-fighters were called to a West Malling home yesterday (Sunday) after an unattended bonfire set a hedgerow alight.

Crews attended the property, on Sweets Lane, at 3pm and found the hedge on fire as well as surrounding grass and undergrowth.

The cause of the blaze was a bonfire that had been left unattended in dry conditions.

The blaze was extinguished by 4.10pm and no injuries were suffered.
