Fire put out after smoke seen through Yalding roof

Fire crews battled a house blaze after smoke was seen coming through the roof.

Firefighters were called to Lees Road, Yalding just before 12.20pm today.

The caller reported smoke coming through the roof tiles of the property.

When firefighters arrived, they found the power to the house had been isolated by a neighbour and a small fire in the loft space.

They used a hose reel and special fan to clear the smoke and helped carry out salvage for the occupants. They had left the scene by 1.30pm.
